Waterville Man Sent To KU Med With Disabling Injuries

An injury accident in Douglas County Wednesday afternoon sent a Waterville man to the hospital with disabling injuries. Joseph S. Saur, 49, was passing a truck and trailer on U.S. Highway 24, four miles north of Lawrence. The truck proceeded to turn, and trapped the Saur vehicle beneath the trailer. Saur was taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. The other driver, Kevin S. Hooper, 52, of Topeka was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with a possible injury.
