Marysville City Council met Monday. Plans for remodeling at United Bank and Trust main bank downtown were presented, with sketches for sidewalk and infrastructure improvements. The City approved the standing cost share arrangement for sidewalks. The bank has begun a remodeling project, which will include redesign of the interior, as well as new façade and entrance on the exterior. Discussion followed review of a rental inspection program that Fairbury has implemented. No decision was rendered, and consideration of alternatives that other communities may use will be explored. It was consensus that the City Council was not in favor of a proposal coming before the State Legislature to replace the current election cycle, with a partisan ballot option in the fall of the year.
