Bridge Replacement To Begin In Lincoln County

The replacement of a bridge over Beaver Creek on K-18 in Lincoln County is scheduled to begin construction on Monday, March 23. The bridge is located about 3.7 miles east of the K-18/K-14 junction at Lincoln.

During construction, traffic will follow an official detour taking eastbound K-18 traffic south on K-14 to I-70 then east to US-81 then north to K-18 then west on K-18. Westbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.

Plans call for the new bridge to be completed and traffic restored on or about August 22 weather permitting. According to KDOT, the purpose of this project is to extend the life of the highway while improving the ride experienced by travelers. King Construction Co. Inc. of Hesston, KS, is the prime contractor. Project cost is $1,117,171.02. This project is funded through T-WORKS.
