Power Outages Affect NCK

Prairie Land Electric Cooperative updated their phone line shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday to let customers know about the outage which began around 5 a.m.  this morning.

It says the power interruption affects Kensington, Jewell, Burr Oak, Esbon, Smith Center, Portis, Gaylord, Osborne, Cedar and the surrounding areas.

It says crews are working to restore service to consumers, but does not have an estimated time when power will be restored.

A spokesperson for Prairie Land said they received 52 calls from customers about the outage. However, a total number of people affected was not available.

There is a report that some Rolling Hills Electric customers may have been affected as well. We will update this story as information comes available.
