Preliminary Hearing Delayed For Murder Suspect Treven Spencer

A preliminary hearing for Treven LeePaul Spencer, 27 of rural Glasco, originally set for Tuesday, November 3 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 8 in Mitchell County District Court.

Spencer was arrested on July 28 and formally charged with first degree murder on July 31 in the death of Darrell Hill, age 64, of Asherville. Hill’s body was discovered by his wife on the morning of July 24 after the grisly murder.

Spencer was transferred to the Larned State Correctional Metal Health facility on October 23 following an incident where he had to be tasered and restrained after becoming unruly in a situation that involved an altercation with another inmate.
