Identity Of Lincoln County Shooting Victim Released

Earlier this week, we brought you the story of a shooting in rural Lincoln County where man was killed in an altercation at his home. The name of the victim has been released as 33 year old Kevin Kubick.

Lincoln County deputies were sent to a farmhouse 1 ½ miles southwest of Westfall at 1:45 a.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call from a woman. Weigel said that when authorities arrived, Kubick was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

Kubick lived at the farmhouse with the woman who made the 911 call. Lincoln county authorities have recovered the murder weapon though details about the firearm have not been released.

Thirty-six year old Joseph Schultz was formally charged second degree murder in the shooting death of Kubick in Lincoln County District Court yesterday afternoon, and requested a court appointed attorney. Schultz’s bond is set at $800,000.
