Jewell County Commissioners – April 3, 2017

The Jewell County Commissioners met April 3, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with Commissioners Steve Greene, Mark Fleming and Keith Roe present. Shena Mizner, Deputy County Clerk was present for the meeting.

Travis Garst, Solid Waste Director, discussed his new skid loader. He reported on March Solid Waste activity.

The minutes of the March 27, 2017 County Commissioners meeting were approved.

Shannon Meier, EMS Director, discussed monthly activity. Shannon had a change of status form for Danny Hanson for a new title of advanced EMT.

Steve Greene moved and Keith Roe seconded to approve the change of status form for Danny Hanson to advanced EMT. Motion passed unanimously.

Shannon requested an executive session for the purpose of discussing confidential data relating to financial affairs.

Steve Greene moved to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing confidential data relating to financial affairs for 5 minutes beginning at 8:59 a.m. with Shannon Meier and Shena Mizner present. Mark Fleming seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Regular session resumed at 9:04 a.m. with Steve Greene moving to write off $3,144.37 for the 1st quarter of 2017 for EMS. Keith Roe seconded the motion.  Motion carried unanimously.

Don Jacobs, Sheriff, reported on operations of his department.

Joel Elkins, General Superintendent, discussed road concerns.  The Commissioners discussed the Webber black top road.  Joel said they will start patching as soon as weather permits.

Dwight Frost telephoned about road concerns on V Rd and also 50 Road.

Julie Cassens telephoned about the Webber black top road.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:01 a.m.
