Solomon Valley Community Foundation Announces Grant Awards

The Solomon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recent awarding of grants totaling $50,000 to local projects in Mitchell County. Funding of the Grants was made possible from the generosity of The Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Founding Donors of Solomon Valley Community Foundation through its Community Impact Fund.

The following projects received funding from the Solomon Valley Community Foundation:

 Beloit Arts Center Ltd. for Studio Equipment
 Beloit Blaze Softball Club for Softball / Baseball Field
 Beloit Elementary School for Classroom Interactive Whiteboards
 Beloit Jr. Sr. High School for UAV/Drone Program & Library Media Center 3D Station
 Beloit Parents as Teachers for Hearing Test Equipment
 City of Hunter for City Beautification
 Glen Elder Friends Church for Handicap Accessibility
 Lakeside Elementary School for Chrome-books
 Leadership Mitchell County for Trojan Stadium Speaker System & Tour Guide Systems
 Mitchell County Rescue Squad for Rescue Jaws High Pressure Pump
 Post Rock District, K-State Research & Extension for Soil Testing Equipment
 St. John’s Catholic High School for Media Lab Station
 Tipton Catholic High School for Chrome-books
 Tipton Christian School for Classroom Laptops
 Veterans 4 Veterans Outdoor Adventures Inc. for Office Equipment

“The Board of Directors of Solomon Valley Community Foundation is very pleased to be able to award these grants due to the generous support of individuals, companies and the Dane G. Hansen Foundation,” said John Yeary, Board Member. “There were so many worthy applications, which made it difficult through the selection process. These awards will have a very positive impact on our area.”

Solomon Valley Community Foundation was established in 2013 to allow our communities to plan long term for our families and friends.

Now in his third year as News Director at KD-Country 94 and Z-96.3 The Lake, Chad is a jack of not all, but many trades. He spent previous years of his working life in hotel management, event planning, security, the aviation industry, staff writing for a newspaper, and as a small business owner. He began doing play-by-play of high school sports for KDNS and KZDY in 2009 and came to work full time for the stations in July of 2015. He is a single-father of a young daughter and enjoys spending his free time with her. His favorite activities include attending live music and sporting events as well as being a singer/songwriter. A natural conversationalist, he also enjoys a good discussion/debate on a myriad of topics from current events and politics to sports and philosophy. He resides in Beloit with his daughter and continues to write sports and meeting stories for a local newspaper.
