Marshall County Commission Meeting Minutes – 12/4/17

The Board of Marshall County Commissioners met in regular session with Robert S. Connell, Chairman, Lynn Feldhausen and David E. Baier members and Sonya L. Stohs, County Clerk present.

The Board called the Board of County Commissioner meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

The Board opened the meeting with the flag salute.

The minutes and agenda were approved as presented upon a motion by David E. Baier seconded by Lynn Feldhausen. Unanimous.

Vicki Sue Gross, Marysville was present for the meeting.

Lynn Feldhausen moved, seconded by David E. Baier to approve the Home City Sewer bills and pay them from the appropriate funds available. Unanimous.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig and Public Works Coordinating Supervisor Larry Polson met with the Board.

The Board asked that Public Works Administrator Mike Craig have the data put onto a spreadsheet and present it next week for review.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig presented information to the Board having A-H road record books and B-I survey record books microfilmed and repairing of the red jackets and digital copies made for the cost of $7,600.00 from Mid-Continent Micrographics, Inc., St. Joseph, MO.

Marysville Police Chief Todd Ackerman, Blue Rapids Police Chief Ryan Woodyard, City of Marysville Sargent Dave Ohlde met with the Board to discuss the need for the County Attorney to be full-time.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig met with the Board to discuss having the gutters replaced on the Courthouse. The Board asked Mike to find out more information on replacing or repairing of the Courthouse gutters.

County Attorney Laura Johnson-McNish met with the Board to discuss renewing the Attorney contracts with Meghan Voracek, Elizabeth Olson, Steve Kraushaar Child in need of Care (CINC) and misdemeanor cases. She presented two styles of contracts to the Board. She also discussed her concerns with splitting of the County Counselor and County Attorney duties.

County Counselor Jason Brinegar met with the Board. The Board asked him to review the Attorney contracts for Meghan Voracek, Elizabeth Olson, Steve Kraushaar. He also discussed with the Board how his office will be handling the Child in need of Care (CINC) cases and other duties.

County Health Nurse Sue Rhodes met with the Board to give the Board a monthly update.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to go into executive session for five minutes at 11:20 a.m. to discuss matters of nonelected personnel to assure compliance with policies and laws with County Health Nurse Sue Rhodes present. Unanimous. No action was taken as a result if the session.

The Board received the Windfarm PILOT payment in the amount of $300,000.00 to be deposited in the Road & Bridge Special fund.
