    On Friday August 18 9th Annual tractor Drive. Registration will start at 10 a.m. and drive will leave promptly at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be available.
    34th Annual show will be August 19 and 20 at Crystal Lake, located 12 miles southwest of Hastings, NE on Hwys 281 and 74. Featured will the John Deere tractors and equipment – the 180th Anniversary of this brand. Gates open at 7 a.m.. Admission $5.00 per day, children under 10 free. . Events:antique vehicles, small engines, tractor drive on Friday, tractor pulls, tractor games, flea market and craft vendors, live music, food concessions including pancake breakfasts, parades, small animals, blacksmith and knife making demonstrations, wheat thrashing and corn shelling, Sat evening entertainment Sunday morning church service, children games, hourly and super raffle, and more.     Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer. Derek is now responsible for the digital content of Dierking Communications, Inc. six radio stations. In 2005 Derek joined the staff of KCFX radio in Kansas City as a production coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, which airs on over 70 radio stations across 12 Midwest states and growing.
